I love this song, so this is today's song of the day! We sing this in chapel and at church.
Revelation Song by Kari Jobe and Philips, Craig, and Dean
Worthy is the,
Lamb who was slain
Holy, Holy, is He
Sing a new song, to Him who sits on
Heaven's Mercy Seat
[Repeat 2x]
(Chorus)
Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing:
Praise to the King of Kings!
You are my everything,
And I will adore You…!
Yeah!
Clothed in rainbows, of living color
Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor, strength and
Glory and power be
To You the Only Wise King,
Yeah
(Chorus)
Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come, yeah
With all creation I sing:
Praise to the King of Kings!
You are my everything,
And – I - will - adore You!
Yeah!
Filled with wonder,
Awestruck wonder
At the mention of Your Name
Jesus, Your Name is Power
Breath, and Living Water
Such a marvelous mystery
Yeah...
(Chorus)
Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come, yeah
With all creation I sing:
Praise to the King of Kings!
You are my everything,
And – I - will - adore You!
Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come,
With all creation I sing:
Praise to the King of Kings!
You are my everything,
And – I - will - adore YOU…
(Chorus) (Repeat at a cappella)
Come up lift up His Name
To the King of Kings…
We will adore YOU Lord…
King of heaven and earth
King Jesus, King Jesus
Aleluya, aleluya, aleluya!
Majesty, awestruck Honor
And Power and Strength and Dominion
To You Lord,
To the King, to King
To the King of Glory

While You Were Sleeping- Day 6
I have loved this song ever since I first heard it on a Casting Crowns CD. It has never been really popular, but it's one of those songs that has such good lyrics if you stop and truly listen to them.
While You Were Sleeping by Casting Crowns
Oh little town of Bethlehem
Looks like another silent night
Above your deep and dreamless sleep
A giant star lights up the sky
And while you're lying in the dark
There shines an everlasting light
For the King has left His throne
And is sleeping in a manger tonight
Oh Bethlehem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
For God became a man
And stepped into your world today
Oh Bethlehem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping
Oh little town of Jerusalem
Looks like another silent night
The Father gave His only Son
The Way, the Truth, the Life had come
But there was no room for Him in the world He came to save
Jerusalem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
The Savior of the world is dying on your cross today
Jerusalem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping
United States of America
Looks like another silent night
As we're sung to sleep by philosophies
That save the trees and kill the children
And while we're lying in the dark
There's a shout heard 'cross the eastern sky
For the Bridegroom has returned
And has carried His bride away in the night
America, what will we miss while we are sleeping
Will Jesus come again
And leave us slumbering where we lay
America, will we go down in history
As a nation with no room for its King
Will we be sleeping
Will we be sleeping
United States of America
Looks like another silent night
While You Were Sleeping by Casting Crowns

What I Like About You- Day 5
I just copied this over from my Xanga site. It's an old post that I wrote on February 2, 2008.
We read a poem in A.P. English on Thursday that I thought was cute, if you take it the right way. I guess some people think it indicates an abusive relationship between the father and son, but I don't think so. If it was that, then why would the boy be clinging to his father in the end? But most people take it as a fun, loving experience. So here it is:
My Papa's Waltz
The whiskey on your breath
Could make a small boy dizzy;
But I hung on like death:
Such waltzing was not easy.
We romped until the pans
Slid from the kitchen shelf;
My mother's countenance
Could not unfrown itself.
The hand that held my wrist
Was battered on one knuckle;
At every step you missed
My right ear scraped a buckle.
You beat time on my head
With a palm caked hard by dirt,
Then waltzed me off to bed
Still clinging to your shirt.
Our student teacher then asked us if we had memories of when we danced with our dads as a child. That reminded me of the tradition Jen and I had with our dad. My dad had a record of The Romantics. I can still see the cover of the record in my mind even though I think we got rid of it long ago. There was one song in particular that whenever it came on, Dad would always have Jen and I dance around the room with him to it. It was the song, "What I Like About You". Here are the lyrics:
"Hey, uh huh huh
Hey, uh huh huh
What I like about you, you hold me tight
Tell me I'm the only one, wanna come over tonight, yeah
You're whispering in my ear
Tell me all the things that I wanna to hear, 'cause that's true
That's what I like about you
What I like about you, you really know how to dance
When you go up, down, jump around, think about true romance, yeah
You're whispering in my ear
Tell me all the things that I wanna to hear, 'cause that's true
That's what I like about you
That's what I like about you
That's what I like about you
Wahh!
Hey!
What I like about you, you keep me warm at night
Never wanna' let you go, know you make me feel alright, yeah
You're whispering in my ear
Tell me all the things that I wanna to hear, 'cause that's true
That's what I like about you
That's what I like about you
That's what I like about you
That's what I like about you (whispered)
That's what I like about you (whispered)
That's what I like about you (whispered)
That's what I like about you (whispered)
Hey, uh huh huh, hey hey hey
Hey, uh huh huh, brrr
Hey, uh huh huh, hey"

Heaven- Day 4
What do you know- I already missed a day. Yesterday was just an extremely busy day. Today's song is "Heaven" by Bryan Adams. I have had it going through my head this afternoon.
Heaven- by Bryan Adams
Oh - thinkin' about all our younger years
There was only you and me
We were young and wild and free
Now nothin' can take you away from me
We've been down that road before
But that's over now
You keep me comin' back for more
Baby you're all that I want
When you're lyin' here in my arms
I'm findin' it hard to believe
We're in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven
Oh - once in your life you find someone
Who will turn your world around
Bring you up when you're feelin' down
Yeah - nothin' could change what you mean to me
Oh there's lots that I could say
Just hold me now
Cause our love will light the way
And baby you're all that I want
When you're lyin' here in my arms
I'm findin' it hard to believe
We're in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven
I've been waitin' for so long
For something to arrive
For love to come along
Now our dreams are comin' true
Through the good times and the bad
Ya - I'll be standin' there by you
I don't have a YouTube video of this one.

Amazing Grace- Day 3
I have had this song running through my head off and on for the past couple days, ever since I watched the movie Amazing Grace on Saturday night. That's why I decided to make today's that song. It's an "oldie, but goodie" as they sometimes say in church. :)
Amazing Grace by John Newton
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far
and Grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me.
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
When we've been here ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we've first begun.
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
Instead of actually showing a "music video" for this song, I'll share the trailer for the movie since that includes the song.

Cinderella- Day 2
Today's song is "Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman. I'm sure you all know the significance behind this song, so I won't go into that. This song makes me tear up every time I hear it. What a special song.
Cinderella
She spins and she sways
To whatever song plays
Without a care in the world
And I'm sitting here wearing
The weight of the world on my shoulders
It's been a long day
And there's still work to do
She's pulling at me
Saying "Dad, I need you
There's a ball at the castle
And I've been invited
And I need to practice my dancing
Oh, please, Daddy, please?"
So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella
I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone...
She says he's a nice guy and I'd be impressed
She wants to know if I approve of the dress
She says, "Dad, the prom is just one week away
And I need to practice my dancing
Oh, please, Daddy, please?"
So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella
I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone
She will be gone
Well, she came home today with a ring on her hand
Just glowing and telling us all they had planned
She says, "Dad, the wedding's still six months away
But I need to practice my dancing
Oh, please, Daddy, please?"
So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella
I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone
This isn't the actual music video. The YouTube video that I wanted to share was the actual music video for the song with the story behind the song included, but you can't embed that video. So I found this one instead. I thought it was sweet; it's actual people doing their version of the song at a father/daughter dance.

Song of the Day- Day 1
A Xanga friend of mine started a Blogger site to do a Picture a Day for this year. I was thinking about doing the same on this site since I already have it, but then I saw that a friend of hers is doing a Song of the Day on her blog. I thought I would do that instead for this year. I don't know if I'll actually be able to update every day since I use Xanga way more than Blogger, but I thought it'd still be fun to try. We shall see how this goes. :)
For today I have chosen, "I Have a Dream" from the movie Mamma Mia. I love that song. It's a great end to the movie. I was going to add the song on here, but I don't see how to do audio. Maybe you can't on Blogger??
I Have a Dream by ABBA
I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream - I have a dream
I have a dream, a fantasy
To help me through reality
And my destination makes it worth the while
Pushing through the darkness still another mile
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream - I have a dream
I'll cross the stream - I have a dream
I have a dream, a song to sing
