He's My Son- Day 152

Why is it that Mark Schultz's songs always make me cry??? This song is no exception. So many times I feel like I could be saying the same thing to God: "Can you hear me? Am I getting through tonight?"

He's My Son by Mark Schultz
I'm down on my knees again tonight,
I'm hoping this prayer will turn out right.
See, there is a boy that needs Your help.
I've done all that I can do myself
His mother is tired,
I'm sure You can understand.
Each night as he sleeps
She goes in to hold his hand,
And she tries
Not to cry
As the tears fill her eyes.

Can You hear me?
Am I getting through tonight?
Can You see him?
Can You make him feel all right?
If You can hear me
Let me take his place some how.
See, he's not just anyone, he's my son.

Sometimes late at night I watch him sleep,
I dream of the boy he'd like to be.
I try to be strong and see him through,
But God, who he needs right now is You.
Let him grow old,
Live life without this fear.
What would I be
Living without him here?
He's so tired,
And he's scared
Let him know that You're there.

Can You hear me?
Am I getting through tonight?
Can You see him?
Can You make him feel all right?
If You can hear me
Let me take his place some how.
See, he's not just anyone, he's my son.

Can You hear me?
Am I getting through tonight?
Can You see him?
Can You make him feel all right?
If You can hear me
Let me take his place somehow.
See, he's not just anyone.

Can You hear me?
Can You see him?
Please don't leave him,
He's my son.

Everything to Me- Day 151

This song always used to be the one I immediately thought of when we were asked what song described our lives or was our theme song. Now I have other songs I think of, too, when asked that question, but I still love this one. Such a good song!

Everything to Me by Avalon
I grew up in Sunday school, I memorized the Golden Rule
And how Jesus came to set the sinner free
I know the story inside out, and I can tell you all about the path that led Him up to Calvary
But ask me why He loves me, and I don't know what to say
But I'll never be the same because He changed my life when He became...

(CHORUS)
Everything to me (everything to me)
He's more than a story (more than a story)
More than words on a page of history
He is the air that I breathe (the air that I breathe), the water I thirst for (water I thirst for)
And the ground beneath my feet
Oh He's everything, everything to me

We're living in uncertain times
And more and more I find that I'm aware of just how fragile life can be
I wanna tell the world I've found, a love that turned my life around
They need to know that they can taste and see
Now everyday I'm prayin' (everday praying) just to give my heart away (give my heart away)
I wanna live for Jesus, so that someone else might see that He is...

Everything to me (everything to me)
He's more than a story (more than a story)
More than words on a page of history (the air that I breathe)
He's the air that I breathe (the air that I breathe), the water I thirst for (water I thirst for)
And the ground beneath my feet
Oh He's everything, (oh He's everything to me)

And lookin' back over my life at the end, (I'll go to meet You) I'll go to meet You, sayin You've been..

Everything to me
More than a story
More than words on a page of history

You're everything to me (everything to me)
You're more than a story (more than a story)
More than words on a page of history
You're the air that I breathe (the air that I breathe), the water I thirst for (water I thirst for)
And the ground beneath my feet
You're everything
Lord You're everything to me, Jesus

Everything, You're the water I thirst for
You're everything to me, Jesus, oh
Everything, You're the water I thirst for
The air I breathe, the song I sing, oh
Everything to me, everything to me
You're my life, my love, everything

Footloose- Day 150

Okay, when you hear this song, how can you NOT want to get up and start dancing?! This song came on my iPod while I was typing up some other blog entries, and it was all I could do to stay sitting and not get up to dance!

Footloose
I've been working so hard
I'm punching my card
Eight hours for what?
Oh, tell me what I got

I've got this feeling
That time's just holding me down
I'll hit the ceiling or else I'll tear up this town
Tonight I gotta cut

Loose, footloose kick off your Sunday shoes
Please, Louise pull me off a my knees
Jack, get back c'mon before we crack
Lose your blues everybody cut footloose

And you're playing so cool
Obeying every rule
I dig a way down in your heart
You're burning, yearning for songs

Somebody to tell you
That life ain't passing you by
I'm trying to tell you
It will if you don't even try
You can fly if you'd only cut

Loose, footloose kick off your Sunday shoes
Oowhee, Marie shake it, shake it for me
Whoa, Milo c'mon, c'mon let's go
Lose your blues everybody cut footloose

Cut footloose
Cut footloose
Cut footloose

We got to turn me around
And put your feet on the ground
Now take a hold of the phone
Whoa, I'm turning it loose

Loose, footloose kick off your Sunday shoes
Please, Louise pull me off a my knees
Jack, get back c'mon before we crack
Lose your blues now everybody cut footloose

Loose, footloose kick off your Sunday shoes
Please, Louise pull me off a my knees
Jack, get back c'mon before we crack
Lose your blues

Everybody cut everybody cut
Everybody cut everybody cut
Everybody cut everybody cut
Everybody everybody cut footloose

Give It Up- Day 149

This is another song from my favorite Avalon CD. I need to break that one out again soon. Well, after Christmas. :)

Give It Up by Avalon
Dream a little dream, dream a little while
Remembering a day when you were wide-eyed
Gave the Lord your heart, gave Him all your soul
Slowly you have taken back control

Now you're somewhere in-between
Your new world and your old routine

Dream a little dream, dream a little while
Dream with me of how you think it might be...

To give Him all of your heart (give it up, give it up)
Give Him all of your life (give it up, give it up)
Give Him all of your soul (give it up, give it up)
Give it up, give it up, woh

Na na na na na
Na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na
Na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na

Your choice is black or white, not a shade of gray
Because in love there's no such thing as halfway
Devotion can be swayed, emotions can be torn
He'd rather we be hot or cold than lukewarm

Bring the Father all your soul (bring the Father all your soul)
There's freedom in the letting go (Oh, let it go)

Pray a little prayer, Dream a little dream
Dream with me of how you think it might be (yeah)

To give Him all of your heart (give it up, give it up)
Give Him all of your life (give it up, give it up)
Give Him all of your soul (give it up, give it up)
Give it up, give it up, woh

Na na na na na
Na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na
Na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na

Ah ah ah ahh...
(give it up give it all up heart and soul give it up give it up give it all up heart and soul)

Give Him all of your heart (give Him all your heart)
Give Him all of your life (give it up, give it up)
Give Him all of your soul (give it up give it up) (give Him all your soul)
Give Him all of your heart (give it up, give it up)
Give Him all of your life (give it up, give it up) (all of your life)
Give Him all of your soul (give it up give it up) (all of your heart)
Give it up give it up (give it up, give it up) (all of your life)
Give it up give it up Oh

Repeat

I'll Lead You Home- Day 148

This song played on my iPod last night and was running through my head for the rest of the evening. You gotta love some Michael W. Smith music. :)

I'll Lead You Home by Michael W. Smith
Wandering the road of desperate life
Aimlessly beneath the barren sky
Leave it to me
I'll lead you home
So afraid that you will not be found
It won't be long before your sun goes down
Just leave it to me
I'll lead you home

Chorus:
Hear me calling
Hear me calling
Just leave it to me - I'll lead you home

A troubled mind and a doubter's heart
You wonder how you ever got this far
Leave it to me, I'll lead you home

Vultures of darkness ate the crumbs you left
And you got no way to retrace your steps
Just leave it to me
I'll lead you home

Chorus 2:
Hear me calling
Hear me calling
You're lost and alone
Leave it to me
I'll lead you home

Chorus 2

So let it go and turn it over to
The one who chose to give his life for you
Leave it to me
I'll lead you home

So let it go and turn it over to
The one who chose to give his life for you
Just leave it to me
I'll lead you home
Leave it to me
I'll lead you home

Chorus 2

New Day- Day 147

I figured it was high-time I put some more Avalon songs on here since they do happen to be one of my favorite groups. Okay, okay, I have a lot of favorite groups. But they are one of them. This particular song comes off of one of my favorite Avalon albums, too.

New Day by Avalon
Chorus:
It's a new day
Oh, it's a new time
And there's a new way
I'm gonna live my life
All the old has, passed away
And the new has come
Thank God, It's a brand new day

Verse 1:
Lookin' back on yesterday
There are things that I regret
But I put the past behind me
And I never will forget
You hav covered my mistakes
And my broken dreams
Now over the horizon
I see the dawn is drawing near
And I realize the sun did rise
Tomorrow's finally here

(Chorus)

Verse 2:
Now when I wake up thinkin'
'Bout the things I've done before
Memories I could not escape
Well they can't haunt me anymore
Now I can hold my head up high
'Cause I am not the same
You've changed my whole perspective
And with new eyes I see
I've become a new creation
'Cause of what You've done for me

(Chorus)

Bridge:
'Cause of what You've done for me
No, I am not ashamed
This heart of mine is finally free
I'll never be the same"

Only Hope- Day 146

I can't possibly leave this song from A Walk to Remember out! This is pretty much the classic song from that movie. It is definitely my favorite.

Only Hope by Mandy Moore
There's a song that's inside of my soul
It's the one that I've tried to write
over and over again
I'm awake in the infinite cold
But you sing to me over and over and over again

So I lay my head back down
And I lift my hands
And pray to be only yours
I pray to be only yours
I know now you're my only hope

Sing to me the song of the stars
Of your galaxy dancing and laughing
and laughing again
When it feels like my dreams are so far
Sing to me of the plans that you have
for me over again

So I lay my head back down
And I lift my hands
And pray to be only yours
I pray to be only yours
I know now you're my only hope

I give you my destiny
I'm giving you all of me
I want your symphony
Singing in all that I am
At the top of my lungs I'm giving it back

So I lay my head back down
And I lift my hands
And pray to be only yours
I pray to be only yours
I pray to be only yours
I know now you're my only hope

Our Lives- Day 145

This song was our class song when I graduated from high school. It's funny that this was the one that was chosen because it's a song that I had been trying to figure out for awhile. This song is used in a clip from Fox Faith videos, and I loved the song and wanted to know the name of it. Then it was voted our class song. Who would've thought?

Our Lives by The Calling
Is there love, tonight
When everyone's dreaming
Of a better life
In this world
Divided by fear
We've got to believe that
There's a reason we're here
Yeah, there's a reason we're here...

Oh, yeah...

Cause these are the days worth living
These are the years we're given
And these are the moments
These are the times
Let's make the best out of our lives...

See the truth, all around
Ohh, our faith can be broken
Yea, our hands can be bound
Ohh, but open our hearts
And fill up the emptiness
With nothing to stop us
Is it not worth the risk?
Yeah, is it not worth the risk?...

No, yeah...

Cause these are the days worth living
These are the years we're given
And these are the moments
These are the times
Let's make the best out of our lives...

And even if hope was shattered
I know it wouldn't matter
Cause these are the moments
These are the times
Let's make the best out of our lives...

We can't go on
Thinking it's wrong to speak our minds
I've got to let out what's inside...

Is there love, tonight
When everyone's dreaming
Well can we get it right?
Yeah, well can we get it right?...

Cause these are the days worth living
These are the years we're given
And these are the moments
These are the times
Let's make the best out of our lives...

And even if hope was shattered
I know it wouldn't matter
Cause these are the moments
These are the times
Let's make the best out of our lives...

Oh, yeah, let's make the best out of our lives...

Oh, yeah, let's make the best out of our lives...

City On Our Knees- Day 144

This is one of tobyMac's newer songs. I haven't seen them perform this one yet in person. I'm sure we'll see it the next time Tim comes to town. :) I love it.

City On Our Knees by tobyMac
If you gotta start somewhere why not here
If you gotta start sometime why not now
If we gotta start somewhere I say here
If we gotta start sometime I say now
Through the fog there is hope in the distance
From cathedrals to third world missions
Love will fall to the earth like a crashing wave

Tonight’s the night
For the sinners and the saints
Two worlds collide in a beautiful display
It’s all up tonight
When we step across the line
We can sail across the sea
To a city with one king
A city on our knees
A city on our knees
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

If you gotta start somewhere why not here
If you gotta start sometime why not now
If we gotta start somewhere I say here
If we gotta start sometime I say now
Through the fog there is hope in the distance
From cathedrals to third world missions
Love will fall to the earth like a crashing wave

Tonight’s the night
For the sinners and the saints
Two worlds collide in a beautiful display
It’s all love tonight
When we step across the line
We can sail across the sea
To a city with one king
A city on our knees
A city on our knees
Oh-oh-oh

Tonight could last forever
We are one choice from together
Tonight could last forever
Ooh
Tonight could last forever
We are one choice from together
As family
We’re family

Oh Tonight could last forever
We are one choice from together
You and me
Ya, you and me

Tonight’s the night
For the sinners and the saints
Two worlds collide
In a glorious display
Cuz its all love tonight
When we step across the line
We can sail across the sea
To a city with one king
A city on our knees
A city on our knees

Oh oh oh
A city on our knees
A city on our knees
Oh oh oh
If we gotta start somewhere why not here
If we gotta start sometime why not now

Beautiful- Day 143

Amy Grant wrote this song with her husband. It's on one of the Amy Grant CDs I have. I am exhausted right now, so I don't have too much else to say about this one. :)

Beautiful by Amy Grant and Vince Gill
I'm looking for a way to feel you hold me
Feel your heartbeat just one more time
Reaching back, trying to touch the moment
Each precious minute that you were mine

How do you prepare
When you love someone this way
To let them go a little more each day?

(Chorus 1:)
The stars we put in place
The dreams we didn't waste
The sorrows we embraced
The world belonged to you and me
The oceans that we crossed
The innocence we lost
The hurting at the end
I'd go there again
'Cause it was beautiful
It was beautiful

Some days, missing you is overwhelming
When it hits me you're not coming back
And in my darkest hours, I have wondered
Was it worth it for the time we had?

My thoughts get kind of scattered
But one thing I know is true
I blessed the day that I found you

(Repeat chorus 1)

(Chorus 2:)
The rules we stepped aside
The fear that we defied
The thrill of the ride
The fire in our hearts that burned
The oceans that we crossed
The innocence we lost
The hurting at the end
I'd go there again
'Cause it was beautiful
It was beautiful

Sick-Sick Here and a Sick-Sick There

*This is probably getting confusing, but I wrote this Tuesday night to post on my other blog on Wednesday morning. I'm just now getting it copied over. Here is the original post...

I wrote this last night. I'm off at Junior Block again now.

I just got out of the shower. What does that have to do with the price of tea in China? Well, the entire time I was in there, I was mentally writing this post in my head...and it lasted my entire shower. So I clearly have far too much to say to actually say it all in one entry without having an entry a mile long. Fear not, I'll just write for as long as it takes me to do my breathing treatment or dry my hair...whichever takes longest. Yes, I am multi-tasking. That is my middle name. I am doing my breathing treatment, blow drying my hair, and blogging. Speaking of which, my nebulizer is giving me fits right now, probably from a lack of rinsing it out often enough.

Even without a calendar and without family and friends and profs telling me, I'd still know we were approaching a break based on the kids' behavior lately. Ay yi yi. I can only imagine what it'll be like right before Christmas break. Oh but I won't be there! I'll be done by then! :) :) :)

I just heard this in a Hallmark movie while I was home to see the DWTS Finale, "God sees everything, and on certain days, so do I." It was said by a woman who ran an orphanage. I'm sure you've all heard, but JENNIFER AND DEREK WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not excited at all. I've only wanted them to win since Day 1...or Week 1. Whatever.

Everybody and their brother...literally...are sick right now with one thing or another. I am determined not to get any sicker than I am. One can dream right? With Mom, Jen, and I all attending/working at 4 different schools, plus Dad working in a factory, and then interacting with our usual groups of people, we don't stand much chance of being healthy. Currently, at least three floors, yes I said FLOORS, of students here on campus are down with the stomach flu. Plus, your random smattering of other people down with it. There is a nasty headache/neck pain/fever going around Roanoke, where Christa is teaching right now, and she thinks she is coming down with that tonight. So she didn't come over for the finale. A horrid stomach flu was going around the twins' daycare, to the point they had to close the daycare down! And then it spread to Jen's school since numerous people are affiliated with both. And it officially spread to Lincoln, the school I'm at. Today I heard of one teacher and one student down with it, and that was just in the couple minutes I was passing through the office. Goodness knows how many are truly out with it. Then you have your typical cold/flu going around. And I've heard of two cases of pink eye in the past two days. And Evie Baby has croupe. Hmmmm, what else am I missing?

Onto my health update. First off, Nebi (my nickname for my nebulizer) is still not cooperating for more than a few seconds at a time. Grr... Sunday evening Christa came over to dye pasta with me for our Early Childhood class. I already was battlimg a sinus headache. Then we got working with the rubbing alcohol for long enough (anything like that is a huge trigger for me), and it sent me into an all-out migraine. And oh it was BAD. I managed to get Jen to take over for me and made it back to my dark, quiet bedroom, where I hibernated for awhile. I was finally crawling out of my room to try to find some medicine when Christa came looking for me. Of course, I didn't have my emergency migraine meds at home. It was at school. I did have my daily migraine med at home, so I took that for the night since it had been 24 hours. Mom got me to the couch, where I laid with a hot washcloth over my face. After Christa left, with promises of prayers for me, Mom got me on the floor where she pressed up under the edge of my skull, at the trigger points. She did that for so long that I am STILL bruised there from that! Lol! Only it WASN'T a laughing matter then. Finally Dad and Jen raced over to HU and got my emergency migraine med. I took two of those, but it didn't offer any relief. I was plain miserable. It was horrible. I couldn't move. I just laid there and moaned. Mom kept threatening to take me to the ER, but stubborn old me kept refusing. I should've just gone. Mom determined that I wasn't going back to school that night. Jen brought my PJs out, and Mom and Jen managed to get my jeans off of me and put my PJ pants on. They gave up after getting that piece on me and just left my shirt I was already wearing on. Then they called Dad out to come get me to bed. He came out, announcing himself as the "Body Mover".

They got me into bed, where I just laid there begging God out loud to take the pain away. I kept telling my mom I just wanted it to go away. Jen prayed over me before going to bed. Mom really had to get back to work, so she called Dad away from the TV to come sit with me. He just made constant trips to the kitchen (at the other side of the house), reheating wet washcloths for me in the microwave. He'd bring one back, cool it just enough to lay on my face, turn around, walk back to the kitchen, reheat the other washcloth, bring that one back to me, and repeat. What a trooper. Am I blessed with an AMAZING family or what?! They are so good to me. Finally, as I cried my heart out to God, begging Him to give me relief. He did. :) I fell asleep. Sweet, sweet sleep. I was so out of it that the next morning when Jen came to tell me she was out of the shower and it was my turn, I didn't even wake up. She then made the executive decision that I wasn't going to teach that day. She woke me up just after 6 to go e-mail my teacher and take a breathing treatment, before I crawled back in bed until 10:00.

I had already told my prof I wouldn't be in class that afternoon because I had an appointment at the allergist for my asthma. So I drove to Ft. Wayne and went to the doc. I saw the new nurse practitioner since that was who was available. It was a highly enlightening appointment, said TOTALLY sarcastically. She informed me, after listening to my lungs, that I was really struggling for air and not much air was flowing through my lungs. No really! I could've told you that! Then she looked up my nose and told me that I had a lot of "yellow discharge" and was "quite congested" on both sides. Again, duh! And finally, she looks at my throat and tells me I have a lot of drainage. Once again, I could've told you that and I didn't even have to go to med school for that one! So she tried to put me on this one antibiotic, but people, I know my antibiotics. I am on at least 2, if not more like 6 or more per year. I told her I couldn't take that one b/c it upsets my stomach. She said, "All antibiotics do. Eat yogurt with it." I told her I do. She said, "Take it with food." Once again, I DO! She finally looked in my chart and saw that my doctor had documented that this antibiotic gives me horrid stomach pains, even when on a specific stomach med with it, and horrible headaches. Then she decided she could believe me. Honestly, lady! So I am on a different antibiotic and Prednisone. My usual. I should just walk in the allergists at this point, and say, "I'll take my usual!" It'd sure save me, and the doctors/nurses, a lot of time and money.

I drove back to Huntington, and while I waited for my prescriptions to be filled (because they were suddenly bombarded with presriptions apparently), I had time to go to the Hallmark store (and look at everything in it), go fill up my gas tank (because I was almost on empty and saw Christa while I was there), go to the dollar store and look at everything I could think of, mosy around CVS for awhile (looking at all their Christmas decorations, candy, pain reliever, cold medicines, toothpastes, and everything else around the pharmacy), and have a phone conversation with Jen. Well, how is that for a run-on sentence? I finally made it back home with my prescriptions. Lovely.

And seeing as how it is now past one in the morning and I have to get up in 4.5 hours, I should go take the rest of my meds and go to bed. Adios, friends!

Junior Block and Christmas Decorating Fun

There is so much going on in my life right now. I never know just what to talk about. I have a huge list of things (not real list- just in my head) I want to blog about, but I never have the time to do so. Then when I do, I don't know what to tackle next. So I'll just dive in and see what I think about ...

I believe I've mentioned that I'm in Junior Block teaching right now. I'm in a resource room. The teacher I am with just has K-3rd grade kids. It's a bit insane because the teacher I'm with, the 4th-5th grade resource teacher, AND the Title I teacher are all in one room together. Plus, then there are the two paras, plus Sydnie and I, who are doing our junior block experience. It's crazy! We try to do as many groups in the pods as possible, so the room doesn't get so overly crowded, but it's still insane. We are always trying to scoot around each other. But I love it. The ladies are all so great and fun in there. We have a great time together.

The teacher I'm with, Holly, graduated from HU several years ago. She just found out recently that she is pregnant. :) Tomorrow she will be out all day for her first doctor's appointment, and then Friday she will be out all day for training. Guess who is in charge while she's gone? ME! Well, I'm in charge for the mornings while I'm there. There will be a sub there, but I'm in charge of all the morning groups. It's rather intimidating, but it should be fine. I'm just hoping all the kids behave! We have some real doozies in our class. We pulled out all the materials I'll need to teach for the next two days. And she showed me all the documenting of everything that she does. But it's all so much! There are so many different kids that I get at different times from different teachers. I just hope I can remember who is who, when to get them, and where to get them from! Plus, I'll be dealing with one boy and leading him through his morning routine when he arrives at school. He is something else. He can't handle doing anything alone without blowing up and causing major problems, so I have to try to get him to cooperate for me as I help him get his breakfast and meds. He is bad enough that he has to have his own school bus. Isn't that ridiculous?! Yeah, it should be interesting.

Then Monday I teach my first actual lesson. It's a math lesson with social studies integrated in on calendars. I'm teaching it to the group of first grade boys. Oh goodness. They are something else, too. Then Tuesday I teach my first "official" guided reading lesson, and I'll be getting observed by one of my profs for that one! Yikes.

Today one of the boys read the word "prostitute" instead of "provided". Then in two different reading groups, the kids got talking about pregnancies, births, and babies. It was a weird day. Then Holly had a case conference at 11:00, so I went down to the conference room with her to help her set the projector and laptop up and get it running. We spent awhile trying to figure out how to get the projector going, but it wasn't working. So Holly went to the bathroom before we were going to go get the principal to help us. While she was in there, I managed to get it working on my own. Success!

Last night was SO much fun. Christa and I met up at my house around 8:15. We pulled down all of Mom's blue glass from on top of the kitchen cupboards while we waited for the rest of the fam to get back from Ft. Wayne. I already had the Christmas music going. When they got home, Dad went up to the attic and started pulling out more Christmas decorations. I climbed up on the ladder and got the boxes from him as he lowered them out of the ceiling. Then I passed them off to Christa and Jen, who either took them to the other side of the garage or took them inside if they were kitchen decorations. We did that on commercial breaks from Dancing with the Stars Results Show. While the show was on, we decorated the kitchen, hutch, and washed and dried all of the sets of Christmas dishes. It was quite a job!

DWTS Note: I'm sad Brandy left, but at the same time, I was happy that Bristol is still in it. She has worked so hard and come so far this season! I did NOT want Kyle to make it to the finals, so he HAS to go first next week! Jennifer better win it! She is the one I've wanted to win it all along.

After the show was over, we switched over to the Hallmark channel to watch Mrs. Miracle. While that was on, Jen made caramel apples for us with Granny Smith apples while Mom worked on arranging the Christmas dishes in the hutch, and Christa and I created our Christmas ornaments in bowls masterpieces. I love the way they turned out! But Christa, the kitchen floor, and I were all COVERED in glitter by the time we were done. Once the caramel was melted, the 4 of us made our caramel apples, and then sat on the chairs that were randomly arranged in the kitchen from decorating and ate our apples while we watched the movie. So what that it was almost 11:00 on a school night? We had a blast! After our apples were finished, we talked awhile longer before Christa headed home to Jayson. Jen headed to bed, and Mom and I cleaned the kitchen. It was a wreck between all the decorations, boxes, wrapping, caramel, dishes, and glitter. I got to finish watching the movie while we cleaned. After it ended at midnight, I headed back to school and got my shower before bed.

I've started getting my showers at night since I have to be at the school so early. As it is, with getting my shower at night, I still have to get up between 5:30 and 5:45, so I'd rather not shower in the morning and have to get up even earlier.

Cry- Day 142

I just wanted to get more of the A Walk to Remember songs done. I'm ready to move on to another movie. :) This song is so sad, though.

Cry
by Mandy Moore
I'll always remember
It was late afternoon
It lasted forever
And ended so soon, yeah
You were all by yourself
Staring up at a dark grey sky
I was changed

In places no one will find
All your feelings so deep inside
Was there that I realized
That forever was in your eyes
The moment I saw you cry
The moment that I saw you cry

It was late in September
And I've seen you before
You were always the cold one
But I was never that sure
You were all by yourself
Staring up at a dark grey sky
I was changed

In places no one will find
All your feelings so deep inside
Was there that I realized
That forever was in your eyes
The moment I saw you cry

I wanted to hold you
I wanted to make it go away
I wanted to know you
I wanted to make your everything
Alright

I'll always remember
It was late afternoon
In places no one will find
All your feelings so deep inside

Baby, oh no no
Forever was in your eyes
Was there that I realized
That forever was in your eyes
The moment I saw you cry

Baby Cry!
The moment that I saw you cry
Oh no no
I think I saw you cry
The moment I saw you cry

I wanted to know you
I wanted to know you
I wanted to know you

So What Does it All Mean- Day 141

I watched A Walk to Remember last night, so I wanted to do another song from that movie.

So What Does it All Mean by Shane West
The day I first met you,
Well I thought it quite funny.
Your eyes were so damn blue,
Your smile was a drug, your style was money.

So what does it all mean
To find someone that makes you cry inside?
She's got the players on her team,
How could I smile when all she did was say Hi?

[chorus]
That one day when he is gone,
I'll get my chance to ask you out.
And then I'll show my colorful life.

I'd like to be like you.
With a rep like yours my little honey.
I'm not sure what I can do.
Just know that I ain't no f---in' dummy.

So what does it all mean?
To try so hard to get the right words out.
Well I wish I could come clean.
I'll give it my all, but I have my doubts.

[chorus] x2
That one day when he is gone,
I'll get my chance to ask you out.
That one day when he is gone,
I'll get my chance to ask you out.
That one day when he is gone,
I'll get my chance to ask you out...

And then I'll show my colorful life x3

Gone- Day 140

I needed more tobyMac songs on here, so here is another popular one. Funny story about this song. While we were in St. Louis for a youth group trip 5 years ago, we went to a shopping mall. The group of girls that I was with decided to stop at the DQ inside the mall to get a Blizzard and take a break. While we were sitting there, the music video for this song came on the TV that was right above us. My second cousin Tim is in the group, so he was on the music video. It was hilarious to be just sitting in a mall and see him come on the TV.

Gone by tobyMac
I told the girl that you should treat her like a lady and
She told me all the things you did and it was shady, man
She said that what you say and what you do are different things
While you were telling me that you were checking out them blingy rings

She said she's had enough
Well, it sounds to me like you're straight out of luck
And she said she's all through
And life's not blowin' her kisses thanks to you

I wanna know, wanna know what you were thinkin'
I can't imagine why it didn't even sink in
They say you never know what you got till it's gone
(Never know what you got till it's gone)
I wanna know, wanna know what you were thinkin'
I can't imagine why it didn't even sink in
They say you never know what you got till it's gone
(Never know what you got till it's gone)

She said she's had enough
So, it sounds to me like your still out of love
And she said you weren't true
And life's not blowin' her kisses thanks to you

She said it's gonna be alright
Cause God made a way through the pain and he opened her eyes
And she said you came crawling back
But after what you did to her she wouldn't have any of that

Simple Things- Day 139

I first heard this song at Michael W. Smith's concert celebrating 20 years of his career when Amy Grant popped in to his concert since he started his career playing the piano for her. She did this song, and I bought her CD that night.

Simple Things by Amy Grant
Wake up baby look around
Birds sing, ooooh that sound
Reminds me of a line
From Unchained Melody

Feel like I'm a little girl
Best thing in the whole wide world
Is I can see the makings of a memory
I remember how it used to be
Well I'm still dreaming...

Cuz I dream of simple things
I can believe in
Like the feeling this day brings
True love and the miracle of forgiving
I believe in simple things

Ain't nothing like a sunny day
Chit-chat at a street cafe
Just paint the picture, baby
Where you wanna be

Take a walk, take a ride
So far, you and I
Don't need a plan
But we can share
This revelry

I remember how I used to want it all
Funny now the big things seem so small

I dream of simple things
I can believe in
Like the feeling this day brings
True love and the miracle of forgiving
I believe in simple things

Through all the days
The blues, the greys
A ray of light keeps shining...

Come On Over- Day 138

Yet another Shania Twain song from her CD titled the same- Come On Over.

Come On Over by Shania Twain
Get a life-get a grip
Get away somewhere, take a trip
Take a break-take control
Take advice from someone you know
Come on over-come on in
Pull up a seat-take a load off your feet
Come on over-come on in
You can unwind-take a load off your mind

Make a wish-make a move
Make up your mind-you can choose
When you're up-when you're down
When you need a laugh come around

Come on over-come on in
Pull up a seat-take a load off your feet
Come on over-come on in
You can unwind-take a load off your mind

Oh, oh, oh...

Be a winner-be a star
Be happy to be who you are
Gotta be yourself-gotta make a plan
Gotta go for it while you can

Come on over-come on in
Pull up a seat-take a load off your feet
Come on over-come on in
You can unwind-take a load off your mind

Get a life-get a grip
Get away somewhere, take a trip
Take a break-take control
Take advice from someone you know

Come on over-come on in
Pull up a seat-take a load off your feet
Come on over-come on in
You can unwind-take a load off your mind

Oh, oh, oh...

Irene- Day 137

As previously mentioned, my second cousin Tim is in tobyMac's band. He is the lead guitarist. After Time joined the band, Toby rewrote the song "Irene" to incorporate Tim's trumpet into it. On the Alive and Transported CD, the guitarist is Tim. I included the audio clip for you to hear that. Darn it, the audio clip doesn't seem to be working. Oh well, I'll include the music video, too. But here is the audio clip, just in case it does start working again...

There is the whole instrumental part at the beginning for the first 25ish seconds that is Tim playing his guitar. I love that part; it's so pretty. Then in the middle of the song at 2:45 and 2:55 there are two added 5 second bits of the trumpet solo, and then at 3:19 there is a longer trumpet solo, which is Tim playing.

Irene by tobyMac
Hush little baby baby don't you cry
Daddy's gonna sing you a lullaby
Everything's gonna be alright
The Lord's gonna answer your prayer tonight
Hush little baby don't you cry
Daddy's gonna sing you a lullaby
Everything's gonna be alright
The Lord's gonna answer your prayer

Last night I had a dream you was the homecoming queen
Today you're 18, happy birthday Irene
Quit school you had to drop out to raise your little child
Doesn't seem to be anyone around
You got to reach up to touch rock bottom
The powers that be keep you downtrodden
Daughter of Zion, I heard your prayer
Just cast your cares and please beware of snakes
They come in all shapes and sizes
Tempt you, put scales on your eyelids
Don't waste your sorrows
They'll give you strength ... tomorrow
Your Calvary's about to come so
Keep your head up, don't you ever let up
This storm will pass you be ready for the next one

Hey little girl with the pressures of the world on your shoulders
Don't say that it's over
I heard your prayers, just cast your cares
And I'll be there so don't you fear

[CHORUS]

Irene I carried you when you was too weak to walk
I took to you when you gave your heart to God
Faithful and true, that's what I'll always be to you
Believe in you, believe in Me and these mountains have to move
You have dreams and aspirations
I knew you before creation
Your foundation's solid
I will give you a palace, restore your soul
You'll be up for any challenge
Many storms are on the way better sharpen your faith
Count the cost, take up your cross
And wear it every day
Rest in Me and I will give you strength
Blessed is she, Irene who seeks my face

[CHORUS]

Father I'm stronger than when I first believe

Who Am I- Day 136

Casting Crowns's songs always have such powerful lyrics. This song is no exception.

Who Am I by Casting Crowns
Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt.
Who am I?
That the bright and morning star,
Would choose to light the way,
For my ever wandering heart.

Bridge:
Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

Chorus:
I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

Who am I?
That the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again.
Who am I?
That the voice that calmed the sea,
Would call out through the rain,
And calm the storm in me.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.
I am yours.

Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
Cause I am yours..
I am yours..

Learning to Breathe- Day 135

Another song from A Walk to Remember. :)

Learning to Breathe by Switchfoot
Hello, good morning, how ya do?
What makes your rising sun so new?
I could use a fresh beginning too
All of my regrets are nothing new

So this is the way
that I say that I need You
This is the way
This is the way

That I'm learning to breathe
I'm learning to crawl
I'm finding that You and
You alone can break my fall
I'm living again, awake and alive
I'm dying to breathe in these abundant skies

Hello, good morning, how ya been?
Yesterday left my head kicked in
I never thought I could fall like that
Never knew that I could hurt this bad

I'm learning to breathe
I'm learning to crawl
I'm finding that You and
You alone can break my fall
I'm living again, awake and alive
I'm dying to breathe in these abundant skies

So this is the way
that I say that I need You
This is the way
That I say I love You
This is the way
That I say I'm Yours
This is the way
This is the way

I Want to be Just Like You- Day 134

This is such a sweet song with a great reminder. I remember when Vince sang this song on Father's Day one year in church, and he had his son sitting on his lap for it.

I Want to be Just Like You by Philips, Craig, and Dean
He climbs in my lap for a goodnight hug
He calls me Dad and I call him Bub
With his faded old pillow and a bear named Pooh
He snuggles up close and says, "I want to be like you"
I tuck him in bed and I kiss him goodnight
Trippin' over the toys as I turn out the light
And I whisper a prayer that someday he'll see
He's got a father in God 'cause he's seen Jesus in me

Lord, I want to be just like You
'Cause he wants to be just like me
I want to be a holy example
For his innocent eyes to see
Help me be a living Bible, Lord
That my little boy can read
I want to be just like You
'Cause he wants to be like me

Got to admit I've got so far to go
Make so many mistakes and I'm sure that You know
Sometimes it seems no matter how hard I try
With all the pressures in life I just can't get it all right
But I'm trying so hard to learn from the best
Being patient and kind, filled with Your tenderness
'Cause I know that he'll learn from the things that he sees
And the Jesus he finds will be the Jesus in me
Right now from where he stands I may seem mighty tall
But it's only 'cause I'm learning from the best Father of them all

Orphans of God- Day 133

This is a song that gets stuck in my head so easily. But what a great song to get stuck in my head! I love it. I love the video below, too.

Orphans of God by Avalon
Who here among us has not been broken
Who here among us is without guilt or pain
So oft? abandoned by our transgressions
If such a thing as grace exists
Then grace was made for lives like this

There are no strangers
There are no outcasts
There are no orphans of God
So many fallen, but hallelujah
There are no orphans of God

Come ye unwanted and find affection
Come all ye weary, come and lay down your head
Come ye unworthy, you are my brother
If such a thing as grace exists
Then grace was made for lives like this

O blessed Father, look down upon us
We are Your children, we need Your love
We run before Your throne of mercy
And seek Your face to rise above

Stained Glass Masquerade- Day 132

Powerful lyrics. I love this song.

Stained Glass Masquerade by Casting Crowns
Is there anyone that fails
Is there anyone that falls
Am I the only one in church today feelin' so small

Cause when I take a look around
Everybody seems so strong
I know they'll soon discover
That I don't belong

So I tuck it all away, like everything's okay
If I make them all believe it, maybe I'll believe it too
So with a painted grin, I play the part again
So everyone will see me the way that I see them

Are we happy plastic people
Under shiny plastic steeples
With walls around our weakness
And smiles to hide our pain
But if the invitation's open
To every heart that has been broken
Maybe then we close the curtain
On our stained glass masquerade

Is there anyone who's been there
Are there any hands to raise
Am I the only one who's traded
In the altar for a stage

The performance is convincing
And we know every line by heart
Only when no one is watching
Can we really fall apart

But would it set me free
If I dared to let you see
The truth behind the person
That you imagine me to be

Would your arms be open
Or would you walk away
Would the love of Jesus
Be enough to make you stay

Don't Stop Believin'- Day 131

Great song! I like that it mentions Detroit since that is where most of my family lives and is from.

Don't Stop Believin' by Journey
Just a small town girl
Livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere

Just a city boy
Born and raised in south Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere

A singer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice just one more time

Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on
Streetlight people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight people

God Bless America- Day 130

This song can give me chills when sung well. :) I couldn't leave this song out!

God Bless America by Irving Berlin
God bless America,
Land that I love,
Stand beside her and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above;

From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans white with foam,
God bless America,
My home, sweet home.
God bless America,
My home, sweet home.

This is the Moment- Day 129

This song is sung at graduation at our local high school every year. So, I sang this song three years in a row for graduation, including my own, since I was in Concert Choir my sophomore to senior years. It was a hard song to sing at my own graduation! This set of lyrics is the version of the song by Donny Osmond. I have no idea what version we sang.

This is the Moment by Donny Osmond
This is the moment; this is the day
When I send all my doubts and demons on their way.
Every endeavor I have made ever
Is coming into play, is here and now today.

This is the moment, this is the time
When the momentum and the moment are in rhyme
Give me this moment, this momentous moment;
I'll gather up my past, and make some sense at last.

This is the moment, when all I've done
All of the dreaming, scheming and screaming becomes one.
This is the day, just see it shine
When all I've lived for becomes mine.

This is the moment, this is the hour
When I can open tomorrow like a flower.
And with my hand to, everything I've planned to
Fulfill my grand design; see all my stars align;

This is the moment, my final test;
Destiny beckoned, I never reckoned second best.
I won't look down, I must not fall;
This is the moment, the sweetest moment of them all.

This is the moment, forget all the odds
This day or never I'll sit forever with the gods.
When I look back I will recall, moment for moment
This was the moment,
The greatest moment of them all.

Eye to Eye- Day 128

The lyrics are so true.

Eye to Eye by Amy Grant
Well, I'd like to figure out where we stand
Before darkness falls
And I'd like to figure out
Before too late
Before hope is lost
Cause the sun that's shining on my face
Is shining down on you

And the fruit that gives me strength to live
Is giving you strength too
Can we find a way to find a compromise
Tho' we don't see eye to eye
Eye to eye

Well, I'd like to figure out a way
To leave a troubled past behind
To forget those angry words and wars we fought
Across the battle lines
Cause tomorrow we could find a road to peace
For you and me
And our children in their innocence
Will follow what they see
Oh, we've got to find a way to live our lives
Tho' we don't see eye to eye

Oh...how easy it would be
To close the door and walk away
I can't walk out when I believe
You are my brother
And we owe it to each other
We've got to try
Tho' we don't see eye to eye
Eye to eye

Oh...how easy it would be
To close the door and walk away
I can't walk out when I believe
You are my brother
And we owe it to each other
We've got to try
Tho' we don't see eye to eye
Eye to eye
Eye to eye

Well, I'd like to find a way
Tho' we don't see eye to eye
Eye to eye

Well, I'd like to figure out where we stand
Before darkness falls...

Shackles (Praise You)- Day 127

You can't help but get up and dance when you hear this song...or at least move somehow!

Shackles (Praise You) by Mary, Mary
Whoo!
It sure is hot out here
Ya know?
I don't mind thought
Just glad to be free
Know what I'm saying, uh!

Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance
I just wanna praise you
(What'cha wanna do?)
I just wanna praise you
(Yeah, yeah)
You broke the chains now I can lift my hands
(Uh feel me?)
And I'm gonna praise you
(What'cha gon do?)
I'm gonna praise you

In the corners of mind
I just can't seem to find a reason to believe
That I can break free
Cause you see I have been down for so long
Feel like the hope is gone
But as I lift my hands, I understand
That I should praise you through my circumstance

Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance
I just wanna praise you
I just wanna praise you
You broke the chains now I can lift my hands
And I'm gonna praise you
I'm gonna praise you

Everything that could go wrong
All went wrong at one time
So much pressure fell on me
I thought I was gon lose my mind
But I know you wanna see
If I will hold on through these trials
But I need you to lift this load
Cause I can't take it anymore

Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance
I just wanna praise you
I just wanna praise you
You broke the chains now I can lift my hands
And I'm gonna praise you
I'm gonna praise you

Been through the fire and the rain
Bound in every kind of way
But God has broken every chain
So let me go right now

Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance
I just wanna praise you
I just wanna praise you
You broke the chains now I can lift my hands
And I'm gonna praise you
I'm gonna praise you
[repeat x3]

Take them off
What'cha gonna do, yeah

Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance
I just wanna praise you
I just wanna praise you
You broke the chains now I can lift my hands
And I'm gonna praise you
I'm gonna praise you

In a Little While- Day 126

I needed to hear this today. Rather every day so far this semester. But the end is in sight! This song is always a good reminder and puts things back into perspective.

In a Little While by Amy Grant
Got a ticket coming home,
Wish the officer had known
What a day today has been.
Then I stumbled through the door,
Dropping junk mail on the floor.
When will this day end?

But then your letter caught my eye,
Brought the hope in me to life,
'Cause you know me very well,
And I bet you wrote me
Just to tell me,

In a little while,
We'll be with the Father;
Can't you see Him smile? (Ooooooh....)
In a little while,
We'll be home forever,
In a while....
We're just here to learn to love Him;
We'll be home in just a little while.

Boy, that letter hit the spot--
Made me think of all I've got,
And all that waits for me.
Guess I've known it all day long;
Wonder where my thoughts went wrong.
When will my heart believe?

Waking half way through the night,
Reaching toward the lamp for light,
Picking up the Word I find;
Here's another letter
To remind me.

In a little while,
We'll be with the Father;
Can't you see Him smile? (Ooooooh....)
In a little while,
We'll be home forever,
In a while....
We're just here to learn to love Him;
We'll be home in just a little while.

Days like these are just a test of our will.
Will we walk or will we fall?
Well, I can almost see the top of the hill,
And I believe it's worth it all.

In a little while,
We'll be with the Father;
Can't you see Him smile? (Ooooooh....)
In a little while,
We'll be home forever,
In a while....
We're just here to learn to love Him;
We'll be home in just a little while.

In a little while,
We'll be with the Father;
Can't you see Him smile? (Ooooooh....)
In a little while,
We'll be home forever,
In a while....
We're just here to learn to love Him;
We'll be home in just a little--

In a little while,
We'll be with the Father;
Can't you see Him smile? (Ooooooh....)
In a little while,
We'll be home forever,
In a while....
We're just here to learn to love Him;
We'll be home in just a little--

In a little while,
We'll be with the Father;
Can't you see Him smile? (Ooooooh....)
In a little while,
We'll be home forever,
In a while....
We're just here to learn to love Him;
We'll be home in just a little--

In a little while,
We'll be with the Father;
Can't you see Him smile? (Ooooooh....)

I'm Holding Onto Love (To Save My Life)- Day 125

I'm Holding Onto Love (To Save My Life) by Shania Twain
I don't need a shrink to tell me what to think
There ain't no missing link in my love life
It's alright, I ain't that uptight
I don't need a psychic 'cause I don't really like it
When someone tries to tell me just what my future holds
I already know

Your love keeps me alive
You're all I need to survive
I got you by my side

So I'm holdin' on-I'm feelin' strong-baby you're the one
For all my life!
Yeah I'm holdin' out-there ain't no doubt-I can't live without
You all my life!
I'm holdin' on to love to save my life

I don't need to get all caught up on the net 'cause I'm already set
Can't you understand-already got my man
No I don't need proof to show me the truth, not even Dr. Ruth
Is gonna tell me how I feel-I know our love is real

Your love keeps me alive
You're all I need to survive
I got you by my side

So I'm holdin' on-I'm feelin' strong-baby you're the one
For all my life!
Yeah I'm holdin' out-there ain't no doubt-I can't live without
You all my life!
I'm holdin' on to love to save my life

(I'm holdin' on to love to save my life)

Your love keeps me alive
You're all I need to survive
I got you by my side

So I'm holdin' on-I'm feelin' strong-baby you're the one
For all my life!
Yeah I'm holdin' out-there ain't no doubt-I can't live without
You all my life!
I'm holdin' on to love to save my life

Save me, save me, save me
Save my life

Every Man- Day 124

This song used to be on the radio ALL the time. Now it isn't quite as much anymore. I love all of Casting Crowns songs, so I think it goes without saying that I love this one, too.

Every Man by Casting Crowns
I'm the man with all I've ever wanted
All the toys and playing games
I am the one who pours your coffee, corner booth each Saturday
I am your daughter's favorite teacher
I am the leader of the band
I sit behind you in the bleachers
I am every man

I'm the coach of every winning team and still a loser in my mind
I am the soldier in the airport facing giants one more time
I am the woman shamed and haunted by the cry of unborn life
I'm every broken man, nervous child, lonely wife

Is there hope for every man
A solid place where we can stand
In this dry and weary land
Is there hope for every man
Is there love that never dies
Is there peace in troubled times
Someone help me understand
Is there hope for every man

Seems there's just so many roads to travel, it's hard to tell where they will lead
My life is scarred and my dreams unraveled
Now I'm scared to take the leap
If I could find someone to follow who knows my pain and feels the weight
The uncertainty of my tomorrow, the guilt and pain of yesterday

There is hope for every man
A solid place where we can stand
In this dry and weary land
There is hope for every man
There is Love that never dies
There is peace in troubled times
Will we help them understand?
Jesus is hope for every man

Holy- Day 123

Slowly but surely, I'm adding songs. I can do it, I can do it. Lol.

Holy by Nichole Nordeman
How many roads did I travel
efore I walked down one that led me to you?
And how many dreams did unravel
Before I believed in a hope that was true?
How long? How far?
What was meant to fulfill only emptied me still
And all you ever wanted....

Only me
On my knees
Singing holy, holy
And somehow
All that matters now is
You are holy, holy

How many deaths did I die
Before I was awakened to new life again?
How many half truths did I bear witness to
Til the proof was disproved in the end?
How long? How far?
What was meant to illuminate only shadowed me still
And all you ever wanted...

Only me
On my knees
Singing holy, holy
And somehow
All that matters now is
You are holy, holy

And all I have is gratitude to offer you

And somehow
All that matters now is
You are holy, holy

Only me
On my knees
Singing holy, holy
And somehow
All that matters now is
You are holy, holy

You are holy

Holy

It's Gonna Be Love- Day 122

Another song from A Walk to Remember!

It's Gonna Be Love by Mandy Moore
It's gonna be me, baby
It's gonna be you, baby

Time I've been patient for so long,
How can I pretend to be so strong?
Looking at you, baby
Feeling it's you, baby
If I'm asking you to hold me tight
Then it's gonna be all right

It's gonna be love
It's gonna be breach,
It's gonna be more than I can take
It's gonna be free
It's gonna be real
It's gonna change everything I feel
It's gonna be sad
It's gonna be true
It's gonna be me, baby
It's gonna be you, baby
It's gonna be.....
It's gonna be love

Time in my restless suez pool
How can you pretend to be so cruel?
Maybe it's me, baby
Maybe it's true, baby
Maybe it's everything we're dreaming of
We've waited long enough

It's gonna be love
It's gonna be great
It's gonna be more than I can take
It's gonna be free
It's gonna be real
It's gonna change everything I feel
It's gonna be sad
It's gonna be true
It's gonna be you're the one to do
It's gonna be me, baby (me, baby)
It's gonna be you, baby

The sooner you let two hearts beat together
The sooner you'll know this love is forever
(It's gonna be love)
Love needs time now or never
(It's gonna be love)
It's gonna be tough
You gotta believe
It's gonna be strong enough

It's gonna be love
It's gonna be breach
It's gonna be more than I can take
It's gonna be free
It's gonna be real
It's gonna change everything I feel
It's gonna be sad
It's gonna be true
It's gonna be you're the one to do
It's gonna be hard
It's gonna be tough
It's gonna be more than just enough
It's gonna be love
Oh, it's gonna be love

It's gonna be sad
It's gonna be true
It's gonna be me, baby (me, baby)

It's gonna be you, baby
It's gonna be me, baby (me, baby)
It's gonna be you
It's gonna be....(yeah)
It's gonna be love

This is Your Time- Day 120

This is the song that Michael W. Smith wrote after the Columbine shooting on April 20, 1999, which also happens to be my birthday. When a family who used to go to our church but moved out to Colorado Springs to work for Focus on the Family, came back to our church to visit quite a few years ago now, the dad preached that Sunday. His sermon dealt with the Columbine shooting, and he played the music video for this song in church. The whole sermon, coupled with the song and video, made me cry.

This is Your Time by Michael W. Smith
It was a test we could all hope to pass
But none of us would want to take
Faced with the choice to deny God and live
For her there was one choice to make

This was her time
This was her dance
She lived every moment
Left nothing to chance
She swam in the sea
Drank of the deep
Embraced the mystery
Of all she could be
This was her time

Though you are mourning, and grieving your loss,
Death died a long time ago
Swallowed in life, so her life carries on
Still, it's so hard to let go

This was her time
This was her dance
She lived every moment
Left nothing to chance
She swam in the sea
Drank of the deep
Embraced the mystery
Of all she could be
What if tomorrow
What if today
Faced with the question
Oh, what would you say

This is your time
This is your dance
Live every moment
Leave nothing to chance
Swim in the sea
Drink of the deep
And fall on the mercy
And hear yourself praying
Won't you save me
Won't you save me

This is your time
This is your dance
Live every moment
Leave nothing to chance
Swim in the sea
Drink of the deep
Embrace the mystery of all you can be
(Repeat)
This is your time

Every Moment- Day 119

This is another song that is on my future wedding songs list. It's such a good reminder. I remember when Nicole sang this song in church.

Every Moment by Joy Williams
We laughed out loud ‘til we cried
And the tears were sweet
Midnight melted to morning
A moment faded to memory
All these days
They just slip away through our fingers
So…

CHORUS
Don’t let go
Hold onto every moment
Always know
Hold onto every moment that You can

We move on with no regrets to our destiny
Held by the hands of the Father
We share His love and He leads us through
All these days
They just slip away through our fingers
So…

CHORUS

Running through yesterday into tomorrow
Don’t let it just drift away
Forget about tying the hands of time
Give every minute to the One who gave us today

CHORUS

From This Moment On- Day 118

I've gotta be in the right mood to hear this song. It always depressed me when I was little because it would be on at night when we'd be driving back from Ft. Wayne. It'd obviously be all dark outside and that Casey guy would come on the radio and people would call in to request a song for so and so. And they'd always be these awful stories of their loved one dying or something. So this song depresses me unless I'm in the mood for it. Lol.

From This Moment On by Shania Twain
(I do swear that I'll always be there.
I'd give anything and everything and I will always care.
Through weakness and strength, happiness and sorrow,
for better for worse, I will love you with
every beat of my heart.)
From this moment life has begun
From this moment you are the one
Right beside you is where I belong
From this moment on

From this moment I have been blessed
I live only for your happiness
And for your love I'd give my last breath
From this moment on

I give my hand to you with all my heart
Can't wait to live my life with you, can't wait to start
You and I will never be apart
My dreams came true because of you

From this moment as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing I wouldn't give
From this moment on

You're the reason I believe in love
And you're the answer to my prayers from up above
All we need is just the two of us
My dreams came true because of you

From this moment as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing I wouldn't give
From this moment
I will love you as long as I live
From this moment on

This video is slightly strange. I can't figure out why she is going for the look she did. What does that have to do with the song??
